Best Album Eliminator Bracket 3 - Fight Night again!

Ok folks, despite there not being hundreds of you with opinions on these albums, we'll still see this thing through. Same as ever, two albums enter the ring, only one leaves! It's totally like Thunderdome!

So, here's bracket three:

What's Going On (1) - Sticky Fingers (8)

Ok Computer (4) - The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust (5)

Born To Run (3) - Purple Rain (6)

Abbey Road (2) - Back In Black (7)

Don't worry if the seedings seem "off", the list I took this from had its list of problems, namely an attempt to be particulary woke. But I didn't know that at the time. And it doesn't matter, does it? We like what we like, so tell me what you like best and why in the comments...

  1. Can't decide in MG vs RS; both are essential.
    Ziggy over Radiohead, any day.
Largely indifferent to both Prince and BS's albums featured here; I have exactly 3 songs off each. But have muuuuch more BS than Prince, so I'll go with him.
Um, this can't be serious. One of the two best albums by the greatest band of all-time, against AC/DC? I love the AC/DC that I love (Dirty Deeds album and You Shook Me from BIB), but they ain't Beatles-level.
    C in California

    1. C, did you see that I fixed the Diggory Venn track on APNS 5?

  3. No real close battles this time around!

It's the Stones Sticky Fingers over Marvin's What's Goin' On. Though both great albums.
Bowie's Ziggy over OK Computer, no contest.
Springsteen's Born to Run knocks out "whatever his name is currently's" Purple Rain.
And again no contest; the Beatles Abbey Road easily over AC/DC's Back in Black, even though it's also an excellent lp!

  4. 1. Sticky Fingers: strictly on my general listening preferences
    2. Ziggy Stardust: a favorite album by a favorite artist
    3. Purple Rain: like C in CA, I really have no interest in either of these hacks but Born to Run is a decent song without the horrible 80s production trappings as Purple Rain
    4. Abbey Road: Love Back in Black but I agree it can't compete at this level. An unfair match!

  5. The Stones and The Boss are too woke for me. Dancing in the dark, fighting in the streets, and sympathizing with the devil? No thank you!

What's Going On (what the actual fuck IS going on, anyway?)
    OK Computer
Purple Rain (boy, could he play guitar)
    Abbey Road

  6. Well, it look like quite a chalky bracket, but what we might be missing in surprises, we're not missing in controversy (not the Prince Album): Springsteen and Prince are "hacks"? The Boss and the Stones are woke?
What the actual fuck IS going on?

  7. So, here are my picks.

Sticky Fingers. Probably my favorite Stones album.
OK Computer. Ziggy has great songs, but as an album OK Computer hangs better together.
Born To Run. Total classic. A Bruce top 3 album, which makes it better than 90% of other stuff.
And finally, Abbey Road. It's probably The Beatles' best, at least my favorite of them. Back to Black is great, but what are ya gonnna do...
